🏕️ CAMPING TOP TIPS

If this is your young person’s first time camping, or if they are not used to it, here are some of our top tips:

  • Tents can purchased in a variety of places such as Amazon, Go Outdoors or Mountain Warehouse.
  • A ‘pop-up’ tent might be a good option as they are easier to set up, although only go up to certain sizes.
  • When selecting your size tent, remember you'll also need to fit your bags inside. A ‘2-man’ tent will be big enough to fit two people and nothing else, so it's worth getting a slightly bigger tent to fit everything comfortably.
  • You'll also want enough space so that you, your sleeping bag or your bags aren't touching the sides of the tent. If it rains, or due to morning condensation, anything touching the sides of the tent might get wet.
  • Even if the weather is warm, it's likely to get a little chilly at night, so you'll want a nice thick sleeping bag, and enough clothing you can wrap up warm in.
  • Sleeping on an air bed rather than a roll mat will also help if it gets chilly. Staying off the ground and sleeping slightly raised up will help keep you warm.
  • PRACTICE setting up and packing away your tent before you arrive at Limitless, and double check you have all the poles, attachments, covers and instructions needed. It will definitely help!

💬 ADDITIONAL NEEDS SUPPORT

If your young person has any additional needs that will require support during the residential, or if you are unsure about any of the practical elements of Limitless (including camping) please get in touch via youth@kingsgate.church

Our goal is to make our trip to Limitless as accessible as possible for everyone, and the earlier we are able to discuss any reasonable adjustments that may need to be considered for your young person, the more possible it is for us to ensure we are able to facilitate them.
