Our Story So Far
For us, the highlights of the journey so far have always come in the shape of people
1988
Dave and Karen left Oxford and moved to Peterborough, where they felt a call to build a local church that would impact the city, the region, the nation and beyond. We held our first church meeting, where nine people gathered together in Dave and Karen’s tiny living room!
1988 - 2006
As the church grew, we rented venues across the city of Peterborough. In 2006, after several years of praying, planning and incredible sacrificial giving, the Peterborough congregation moved into a brand new, purpose-built facility.
2006
We’ve never been defined by the buildings in which we’ve gathered. KingsGate is about people meeting together, to honour God and to see lives transformed by the power of His love.
2010
A second KingsGate centre was launched in Cambridge, where the congregation continues to grow and a flourishing students’ ministry is being established.
2014
We launched our third centre in the great city of Leicester.
2018
We had the joy and privilege of celebrating our 30 year anniversary as a church!
